Frances was a social worker and an advocate for consumers. In 1911, she witnessed the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and the next week heard Rose Schneiderman’s impassioned speech at a memorial meeting. She channeled her anger into action, leading a committee that investigated the fire and fought for labor reforms
